Learn the historic art of Shibori dyeing at a workshop at The Bunker in SLO March 18 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Shibori dyeing is a pattern making process that is fun and creates beautiful, dramatic textiles for use in fashion and home décor. Learn this technique using indigo, a natural blue dye, to turn four white napkins into pieces of art. Students will learn five tying techniques that create unique patterns, focusing on folded, tied, and clamp resist. They will also learn how to prepare the dye vat, complete the dyeing process, and turn their napkins into other pieces of art such as accent pillows, wall hangings, and framed art. The cost is $60 per person and includes materials. Visit thebunkerslo.com to sign up. Δ
