Bring us your photographs, your paintings, your films, your dance, your noble sculptures yearning to be displayed. This spring, New Times is letting the art speak for itself. Artists are invited to submit paintings, theatrical works, songs, film, dance, photography, sculptures, poetry—art in any medium—inspired by the theme “The Death of Winter.”

Create a Greek tragedy about winter’s death. Write a conversation about the seasons. Photograph a landscape that reminds you of spring. Or take the prompt in a wildly unexpected direction. Be psychedelic. Classical. Surrealistic. Let the theme draw you in whatever direction it wills.

Mail pieces to New Times at 1010 Marsh St. in San Luis Obispo, care of Ashley Schwellenbach, e-mail to [email protected], or bring by the New Times office between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. between Monday and Friday, no later than March 1. Earlier submissions are appreciated. Selected entries will be printed in New Times’ Spring Arts issue on March 19. Or, in the case of videos of dances, songs, or films, featured on the website.

Arts Editor Ashley Schwellenbach can be reached at [email protected].
