My pal Ash told me I would love this classic Bordeaux blend, and indeed I did. A cuvee of 52 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 43 percent Merlot, 3 percent Petit Verdot, and 1 percent each of Malbec and Cabernet Franc, it was intended for early consumption. Bursting with ripe fruit aromas and flavors of black cherries, blackberries, and plums, all nicely woven with notes of dark chocolate and spice, it drinks beautifully on its own. It’s also a great choice paired with a filet mignon with bordelaise sauce, herbed rack of lamb, or prime rib. It’s quite impressive, yet value priced considering the fame of this Napa winery. It’s a very good buy at $23.99 at Tastes of the Valleys in Pismo Beach.
