Domaine Chandon Brut Classic NV

comment

A good value that will fit within the tightest budget, you can’t go wrong with this California bubbly for the New Year’s Day brunch, or watching the Super Bowl. In fact, it’s such a good deal at $11.99 for this well-made wine, I wouldn’t mind if one of my guests felt they had to adulterate it with orange juice. But it tastes fine on its own with classic green apple, pear, lemon, and spice notes. It’s versatile enough for your favorite bacon and cheddar omelet, iced shellfish, Swiss or Jack cheese, or a salad of pears, goat cheese, toasted walnuts, and cranberries. Wine Enthusiast mag rated it 92 points, but they always rank wines a bit high. It’s available at that sale price at Costco or BevMo, and easily found in most grocery stores (at higher prices).
