It’s not too soon to start stocking up for the holidays and I just discovered this excellent sparkling wine. I loved its fragrant bready nose, a big plus. It’s elegant and perfectly balanced with appealing fruit and citrus notes from the blend of two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Chardonnay. Once you’ve tried it, say with brunch or appetizers, you’ll find it hard to save a few bottles for the holidays. Winemaker Tex Sawyer (Cal Poly alum) said he enjoys it with crab and abalone. Believe me, this will make halibut or any shellfish or fish taste better. You get great taste and good value at only $16.99 at BevMo! or www.scharffenbergercellars.com.
