'Elderly woman' arrested for forgery, evading police

comment

According to San Luis Obispo Sheriff deputies, a teller at Mid-State Bank in Nipomo last week became suspicious when a man wearing a wig and trying to pass himself off as an elderly woman pulled up to the drive-through and attempted to withdraw $5,000.

The Sheriff's Department was called, and when deputies arrived they attempted to talk to 28-year-old Kirk Lee Rucker, of Arroyo Grande. Rucker allegedly drove off in his car, leading police on a short chase that ended when he lost control and slid off of the road at the intersection of Pomeroy and Camino Cabello in Nipomo.

Rucker was charged with forgery and evading a police officer and booked in the county's jail on a $20,000 bail.
