Old Country Deli has been a fixture in downtown SLO for 25 years, famous for its slow-cooked hams, savory ribs, and signature sausages. Sadly, the family-owned business will close its doors in March, leaving in its wake a mob of unfulfilled carnivores. Meat eaters will have one last chance to indulge before this happens: On Feb 9, 10, and 11 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., everything will be on sale, so you can stock up until they find a new home. Food and wine lovers can now tune in to KVEC 920 AM to get tips on eating out and drinking local, with New Times cuisine columnist Kathy Marcks Hardesty. The popular lecture series, Horsetalk, is back, starting Feb. 15 at the ranch of instructor Barbara Robinson in Nipomo. Robinson has worked with different breeds of horses for more than 60 years and emphasizes fun and safety in an area abounding with horses. The series is presented through Cuesta College and will cover everything from general advice on training and care to problem solving and the history of domestic horses. The Paso Robles Main Street Association is accepting vendor applications for the upcoming Wedding and Special Events Expo that will be held March 4.
