MURPHY-RODRIGUES Well, for about six years, California has been promoting the wonderful wine that it has to offer. It was only within the past three years that the Central Coast has started to focus on this promotion. This county has been recognized as one of the premier wine growers—not just in California, but throughout the world—so it means a great deal not just for Robert Hall Winery but to all the local wineries in this wonderful county that we can celebrate this promotion with fantastic wines and help educate customers on what the Central Coast has to offer.

NEW TIMES What are some of the promotions your winery will be having during this month?

MURPHY-RODRIGUES Currently, we are offering an ongoing rotation of featured wines. We want to give people who come and taste with us an opportunity to experience as many of the fine wines that we have. Because of California Wine Month, we have been opening up our libraries of treasured wines for the public so they can experience rare and wonderful wines that everyone might not have the luxury to before. We’re also offering an abundance of special discounts for all of our wines to celebrate so everyone can enjoy bringing home their favorite wines.

NEW TIMES What’s your favorite wine that you offer at Robert Hall?

MURPHY-RODRIGUES I’m a huge fan of the Blanc de Robles. During the dry heats in Paso Robles, the Blanc offers a wonderfully refreshing taste that features flavors of nectarines and green apples—although we are quite proud of our Cabernet Sauvignon, which received “Double Gold” honors from the San Francisco International Competition and the title of “Best Cabernet Sauvignon” amongst 436 other Cabernets.
