I just looked online at California Senate Bill 562, a single payer health care bill sponsored by liberal Democratic legislators. Awful!

One reason why our health care is the world's costliest is because we are one of the most unhealthy countries in the industrialized world. Our notoriously unhealthy diet and drug and alcohol abuse is one of the reasons. Senate Bill 562 does not address this. It gives no incentive at all for people to change unhealthy lifestyles. Indeed, the "free health care for all living here for any reason regardless" seems to encourage more bad behavior and therefore more public expense.

California is also heavily in debt and overpopulated. Can you image the effect on the state if people from all over the world try to come here, legally and illegally, just to get the no-questions-asked free health care at taxpayer expense?

This poorly written bill clearly is not aimed at benefiting California taxpayers. It must be loaded with politics and corruption. Investigative reporters, start investigating.

Of course, conservative Republican health care solutions, like everything else they do, tend to just favor the rich.

Once again, I dream of there being a genuine third party, a non-corrupt party dedicated to rational pragmatism whose solutions on health care and other things benefit the society as a whole via democratic values.

I guess I will just keep on dreaming.
