I’m amazed and humbled after reading the remarkable story about Cameron Clapp (“Running man,� Jan. 20-27).

I remember how the community rallied around after his tragic accident — only a few days after the 9/11 crisis in 2001. Even as the whole wide world grieved the loss of life in N.Y., SLO County reeled as a result of the Clapp family’s personal heartbreak.

After reading Cameron’s story and marveling over his web site photos that depict a life of courage, commitment, and grace, I’m awed by his depth of fortitude and passion. All blessings to that wonderful young man and everyone who loves him. May the road always rise up to meet you, Cameron; your story puts things into perspective in a way that will impact everyone who shares it.
