Even cartoonists should accept counsel in regard to 'council'

Mr. Hodin, next time consider the wise counsel of your editor(s) and/or proofreader prior to relying on spellcheck. I can’t believe it made it through the gauntlet of eyes and into print. Since it was part and parcel of this illustration (April 24), it was especially “in our face.”

But don’t even feel like the Lone Ranger. It is an ongoing situation in this university-dominated community ... for all manner of the written word.

A typo or slight misspelling is one thing—but the wrong word? I have to call you on it.

Keep on keeping on, and I am available if a proofreader is ever to be utilized.
