It’s frustrating and disheartening to hear young Joshua railing at “The Tea Party” for, among other things, sabotaging his apparent dream of becoming a government employee (“Thanks from a college student,” Dec. 1) … misdirected frustration, youthful naiveté, I get it. I was 20 once.

Joshua, I applaud you. You care. Continue your education. Vote. Keep your eyes and ears open for the opportunities that will inevitably await you if you don’t get caught up in the victim mentality. You have it better than 90 percent of the people on this planet.

I can only hope that when your generation does write the history books, the authors have a firmer grasp of grammar, syntax, and the proper way to construct a sentence.

There’s still time to change your major. It might not be a bad idea to take that calculus class next semester along with English 101.
