Brouhaha 2011 White Wine

A combined effort by winemakers Amy Butler of Ranchero Cellars and Anthony Yount of Denner Vineyards, this delicious white is a really good value for only $12. The duo loves country music, hence the cool wrap-around, paisley scarf they chose for a label. This refreshing wine is 100 percent Pinot Gris, barely above 12 percent alcohol, and the kind of sipper people describe as a “porch pounder.” Juicy acidity makes it perfect for sipping alone or for pairing with food. I like this with lightly spiced pork chile verde, chicken salad with goat cheese, arugula, apple, and lightly spiced nuts, shellfish, or crispy sand dabs. You’ll find it for $12 at Tastes of the Valleys Pismo Beach, it’s also available at Luis in San Luis Obispo, and Stax in Morro Bay.
