Assistant County Administrator Dan Buckshi is moving to the corner office of the San Luis Obispo County Government Center.
Buckshi was selected to step into the role of county administrative officer, replacing his higher up, Jim Grant, who will retire from the top county post. County officials made the announcement following a July 24 closed session meeting.
Grant and Buckshi stepped into their respective roles after former administrator David Edge and former assistant administrator Gail Wilcox were fired in May 2009.
County officials have yet to decide Buckshi’s starting pay and start date. According to the county salary scale, a starting CAO makes $181,584 per year, plus benefits.
Buckshi began working with the county in 2002. He holds a bachelor’s in business management from Michigan State University and a master’s of public policy from Cal Poly, according to a county news release.
