All aboard the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum for Women's History Month!
On March 24 at 3 p.m., the museum will host a Women Heroes Film event, presenting a brief overview of the history of women in railroading, from the earliest days to the present. A century ago, many, but not all, female workers had what would be considered menial roles today. But even among the stereotypical roles, there were some surprises, including right here on the Coast Route. The event will include three short movies from the silent film era.
Admission to the museum is free for members and children ages 3 and under, $3 for kids ages 4 to 15, and $5 for adults. Visit slorrm.com for more information. Δ
