Chanell Heartman

Food director, Cliffs Resort

NEW TIMES: How has remodeling changed business?

HEARTMAN: We’ve been getting plenty of new faces as well as our regulars coming back to enjoy the new look. Right away our guests have been telling us how much the resort has improved, especially the food and service.

NEW TIMES: When does Happy Hour take place and what do you offer to your customers for specials?

HEARTMAN: Our happy hours take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Monday and Tuesday we have a taco bar available to all who purchase a beverage. On Wednesday we offer 65-cent oysters and half off our seafood menu. Thursday we have complimentary pizza and pasta with the purchase of a beverage, and Friday we offer pizza and half-priced appetizers.

NEW TIMES: What kind of live music do you offer at the Cliffs?

HEARTMAN: We host varied live music on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. The bands perform at the bar or outside on the patio. We have many different bands play from all different genres of music, including folk, funk, reggae, and classic rock.

NEW TIMES: What events are coming up?

HEARTMAN: On March 14, will be hosting the Live on the Rocks concert. It’s free to the public and will be located at our barbecue area where people can sit on the lawn, and enjoy the music. Typically we have two bands play within a four-hour period. During that time we’ll have barbecue available for the public as well as an outside bar. The first band, The Taxi Project, will start at 2:30 p.m. They play a great mix of blues, jazz, and rock. We’re expecting a great turnout.
