Democrats--and the nation--are damaged

Rep. Charles Rangel suggested that other members of Congress had done things more immoral than Rep. Anthony Weiner, saying he “wasn’t going with prostitutes. He wasn’t going out with little boys.” Where Rep. Nancy Pelosi had advised Weiner he need not resign, she has now changed her mind, saying Weiner needs help, but “I urge Congressman Weiner to seek that help without the pressures of being a Member of Congress.”

What’s the problem? Rangel is obviously wrong. And Pelosi has not completely lost her mind. The political cost to the Democrats is huge, and Weiner is thrown under the bus! Weiner now joins homosexual Barney Frank and Rangel in the “swamp” of Democrats with ethics violations. So Weiner’s answer is to escape to therapy where his “twittering” will be constrained along with his sexual urges.

While Britain prays to save the Queen, Democrats pray that this hideous example of hypocrisy and contradiction is not punished by the voters, except in Weiner’s own district in New York where such “Internet swinging” activities may be held in high esteem.

Life goes on, and the political reality of this disaster settles in for the Democrats! But in a larger context, sadly, the whole nation is damaged!
