  • DIFRONZO 2010 PINOT GRIGIO:

This delicious white is wonderful on its own, but even better paired with Giuseppe’s cuisine. And we all know that isn’t true of every restaurant that has its own wine label. I love a good white at lunch, or when beginning a multi-course dinner, and this one fits the bill: It’s refreshing and versatile. It tastes of ripe apple and pear, sweet melon, and zingy citrus, with notes of minerals and spice. It paired perfectly with Giuseppe’s orange, grapefruit, fennel, and butter lettuce salad with feta cheese ($8). It would also pair nicely with seafood salads, like DiFronzo’s amazing Mediterranean octopus carpaccio with lemon dressing, and potato salad ($12). It was equally good with the Margherita pizza ($12). The new vintage is currently available at both Giuseppe’s restaurants in Pismo and SLO. Or you can buy it at retail price at Giuseppe’s Express in Pismo, only $19.99.
