Don't force your navels on children

Allow me, please, to speak out regarding the Jan. 2 letters “Thanks for the freedom of cheeks,” “Happy Newd Year,” and “Billie Holiday, where are you?” by three not-so-bright adults.

Such speculators forget that a majority of us do not like nudity in public, and that Pirate’s Cove is not privately owned by nudists. Every one of us, and our children, has the right not to see flaunted bare bodies. Nudists go over the line by forbidding people in swimsuits or clothes onto Pirate’s Cove. Allowing nudity to an aberrant minority within agreed-to boundaries apparently isn’t enough. Aggressive nudists get a rush from forcing their bare bottoms, breasts, navels, and genitals on the rest of us. Such confrontations can sexually cripple and inhibit small children for life.

Seldom mentioned is the fact that naked women are fair game for rapists. And nude men may have to contend with male rapists.

At one time, modesty was respected. In the 1960s and 1970s, revealing clothing was quite enough. Today, many former swingers are aghast at bare bottoms, navels, genitals, and breasts.
