I tried this wine at two events and returned on both occasions to taste it again, it was that good. Big, ripe, rich aromas and flavors of black cherries, boysenberries, plums, spice, and nuances of leather in this intense wine keep you coming back for more. A blend of Fiddlestix Vineyard blocks with Pinot Noir clones 113 and 777, it’s made by John Dragonette, who co-owns the label with partners Steve Dragonette (his brother) and Brandon Sparks-Gillis. John explained: “We really like the 113, which we’ve gotten several years. It brings a nice spicy quality and complexity. The 777 clone is plusher with more jammy fruit and lots of black cherry.” It’s a good choice for grilled red meats of beef, bison, or lamb. This excellent wine is $45 retail.
