I had a strange dream last night, and it went like this: SLO County got to a point of actually running out of water, so Supervisor Debbie Arnold said, “Let’s do what the padres used to do; we’ll drink wine and serve all of our visitors wine.”

Well, as time went by, the rate of DUIs skyrocketed because unlike the padres and their visitors, we weren’t on horseback; we were driving steel horses. But lo and behold, the county collected a massive amount of money from all of the DUI court cases—enough money to finance a saltwater desalination plant at the former Duke Energy plant in Morro Bay.

At the end of my dream, we all lived happily ever after! Maybe Mrs. Arnold had the same dream I had.
