School starts this month! Just to get you in that back-to-class mood, we’re dropping in with our annual Education Today issue. Get those note-taking skills ready. San Luis Coastal Unified School District is knocking down decades-old buildings and getting ready to construct new ones with the $177 million in bond funds brought in through 2014’s Measure D. In this week’s cover story, Arts Editor Ryah Cooley takes a tour of two of our local high schools and gets the details on what students can look forward to having on campus in the future. Staff Writer Chris McGuinness looks over how SLO County charter schools fare in a recent ACLU report, and it’s not too good. And Staff Writer Peter Johnson gets into how statewide social science-history curriculum will give minorities a greater share of classroom time.
