Election update: Lenthall ahead by 372

By 4 p.m. Tuesday, the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder’s office completed another round of counting absentee ballots and the numbers didn’t look good for Patty Andreen.

Out of more than 22,000 votes, Andreen has won 11,132 while her opponent, Jerry Lenthall, had a total of 11,504 — a difference of 372 votes.

Lenthall and Andreen are running for the county’s 3rd District Supervisor seat, which covers part of the city of San Luis Obispo and the county’s southern coast.

According to the County Clerk-Recorder’s office, there are still more than 5,000 outstanding absentee and provisional ballots that need to be counted — a process they will complete by Nov. 19.
