The 29th annual Arroyo Grande Strawberry Festival is packed with rad activities. Taking place the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend (May 26 to 27) in the Village of Arroyo Grande, this free event boasts a lineup of musical acts on 11 stages, four carnival areas, camel rides, art and crafts booths, and, naturally, a truckload of strawberry delights.

Grab a box of strawbs and enjoy music on the main stages by The Shival Experience, Crustacea Jazz Band, the Cal Poly Jazz Band, Northstar Session, The China Cats (a Grateful Dead tribute band), and more. A new stage area called Conrad’s Porch will feature singer-songwriter Crystal McKee; Bolivian composer, flautist, and guitarist Oscar Reynolds will take the Bridge Street Shady Stage.

At the Dignity Health Teen Plaza, there will be performances by a juggling, unicycling, and ladder act called Something Ridiculous, as well as performances by local dance studios such as Arroyo Grande’s Studio of the Performing Arts. The SoSa Sisters, a Latin rock act comprised of six teenaged sisters from Fresno, will perform twice on Saturday. Free dance lessons will be provided by Coastal Dance & Music Academy. On Sunday, teen pop and rock group the RKDians will take the stage.

For children, performances by Ballooney the Clown and the Bob Bartley and Gypsy Parrot Show at the Rooster Creek Family Stage are sure to entertain. The lineup also includes a prince and princess crowning and a strawberry blonde contest.
