We want to congratulate New Times and contributor Maeva Considine for a timely and fair article about Occupy SLO in the March 15 edition (“Space available”). It was great to read a positive article explaining Occupy’s “growing pains” and the groups’ renewed determination to continue spreading the message of the 99 percent.

Occupy SLO’s 24/7 physical presence at the SLO County Courthouse may be over, but it is alive and stronger than ever in the hearts and souls of the occupiers. Our spirits and determination are renewed when so many SLO residents express their support with smiles, thumbs up, and horn honking during our regular weekly marches every Saturday at noon, followed by our General Assembly at 1:30 p.m.

We feel invigorated by the community support on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at Farmers’ Market and on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. for “Food Not Bombs,” which provides a meal at no charge to anyone attending.

We invite everyone with like hearts and minds to join us at the courthouse for all events and visit us online at occupyslo.org.
