The Academy of Creative Theatre and San Luis Obispo Little Theatre have teamed up to offer summer conservatory classes for aspiring performers in grades 7 to 12. The ten-day workshop includes lessons in everything from stage combat to monologue preparation, and culminates in a final performance for family, friends, local directors, and theater professionals. The SLO County Economic Opportunity Commission of San Luis Obispo County, Inc. (EOC) is now recruiting children ages three to five for the Head Start Program, and younger children for the Early Head Start Program for the 2008-09 school year. Registration is open to all children of low-income families and children with disabilities. Both programs have part-time centers in Nipomo, Oceano, San Luis Obispo, Los Osos, Atascadero, and Paso Robles.
