In recognition of Hand Therapy Awareness & Injury Prevention Week (June 11-15), ARC Physical Therapy is happy to announce that one of their staff, Diane Gross-Giese, has completed a certification in hand therapy. Why the jubilation? Because out of 30-plus physical therapy clinics on the Central Coast, Diane is one of only three Certified Hand Therapists practicing in San Luis Obispo. According to ARC, a hand therapist works with patients who may have been affected by an accident or trauma leaving them wounds scars, burns, injured tendons or nerves, fractures, disabling effects from repetitive motion disorders such as tennis elbow or carpal tunnel syndrome.
