HopeDance films wants your creative and exciting bicycle footage for its annual bike film festival. Short films should be shorter than 10 minutes with a strong message in support of alternative transportation. This year's theme is "Shift Gears." Become the change you wish to see on the road, and become your own propaganda machine to spread the word. There will be first and second prizes given at the festival in May (bike month) and all the films will be available for viewing in the HopeDance library. The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association is looking for a local artist to design the 2007 Concerts in the Plaza promotional poster. Elements of music, movement, and community specifically Mission Plaza should be incorporated in the design. Enhancement, Inc., an organization dedicated to improving the lives of breast cancer survivors, is holding its fifth annual dessert baking extravaganza fundraiser on Jan. 25, 2 to 4p.m. at The Cliffs Resort. Prepare for an afternoon of entertainment and philanthropy with wine tasting, cheese, fresh-baked goodies, and live music. Sample the best that amateur and professional bakers have to offer, and then place your bid. Prizes (including an overnight stay and dinner at one of the Central Coast's best inns) will be given to the pastries that bring in the highest tender and for the best looking.
