Line up your pie pans, purchase the perfect apples, and compete for the right to claim your apple pie is the best in SLO County. Idler’s is hosting its 22 annual “mom and apple pie� baking contest. Idler’s will award the grand prize winner a new KitchenAid Pro-Series stainless steel range. The second place winner will take home a KitchenAid stand mixer; third-place takes a 10-piece KitchenAid cookware set; fourth through twelfth place winners will receive hand mixers. Every mom who enters the contest will receive a 2006 commemorative apron. The preliminary contests will be held at the three Idler’s stores, where entry forms are available: SLO (122 Cross Street), April 1; Paso Robles (1244 Park Street), April 8; Atascadero (9330 El Camino Real), on April 15. The finals will be held April 22 at the Mid State Fair.
