Seeds have sprouted! Seeds Smoothie and Juice Bar is now open for breakfast, brunch, and any time you want a healthy pick-me-up in downtown SLO. You can even build your own Greek yogurt parfait with virtuous add-ons like chia and pumpkin seeds, cocoa, and even bee pollen, which I hear is very good for the immune system (1133 Garden St., SLO; visit the business on Facebook for updates). Buzz on over! Drip, drop: Don’t let the rain stop you from shopping your local farmers’ markets. Grab your boots and an umbrella and get out there. For a list of schedules, go to slocountyfarmers.org. (My favorite? The Saturday morning farmers’ market in the Embassy Suites parking lot off Madonna Road.) Look for the crazy girl on the pink bike overloaded with bags.

Delicious news

Good deeds: Every time a winery goes green, an angel gets its wings. At least, that’s what I like to imagine, because what could be better than good wine grown and produced sustainably? Castoro Cellars is now powering its Templeton winery entirely through the sun’s abundant rays. So cool! The three-acre solar installation is quite a sight to behold. Go and see for yourself while you grab a taste or bottle. (Click over to castorocellars.com for all details.) … Boutique Westside Paso Robles winery Écluse Wines recently snagged best of class, three double gold medals, and two gold medals at the latest 2016 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Way to represent! (Try their award-winning 2013 cabernet sauvignon and 2013 zinfandel, among others, at the tasting room on Kiler Canyon Road in Paso); see eclusewines.com for hours and events.

Listen to your gut

Carb-loading: Firestone Walker Brewing Co. and Brown Butter Cookie Company have collaborated on a creative beer pairing that combines the brewery’s Nitro Merlin Milk Stout (a revamped Velvet Merlin oatmeal stout) and Brown Butter’s signature shortbread cookies made with browned butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and sea salt. Events (with beer and cookies to spare) will be held at Spikes in SLO on Jan. 30, Dunbar Brewing Co. in Santa Margarita on Feb. 4, and at Libertine Pub in Morro Bay on Feb. 11 (go to firestonebeer.com for more details) … Beer and yoga is a thing? Yes, you heard right, folks. Now you can get centered while you get buzzed with the magical invention of Boga! Sip on sour Libertine beer and enjoy an hour of guided yoga inside Libertine’s Broad Street barrel room. (Held each Monday at 6:30 p.m.; $15; visit libertinebrewing.com for more information.) It’s OK to burp during class.
