Like so many people during the recession, I found myself in a financial crisis when I became unemployed. I was especially despondent when my precious cat Boogie Man broke his back leg. I spent $650 for the initial treatment, but the break was complicated and needed a specialist. My cat had showed me only love and loyalty, and he was going to have to live in terrible pain unless I could get the leg fixed fast. The cost was going to be over $1000 and without a job, I could not get a loan or credit. It seemed hopeless until I called POUNCE. They agreed to help my kitty get his needed surgery. My prayers had been answered. They came to our rescue when we needed them, despite being overwhelmed by the many kitties in their foster homes and in need of funds.
They are funded by donations only and it takes a lot of hard work to bring in funds. POUNCE is a nonprofit charity that rescues cats and kittens that have nowhere else to go. They have helped thousands by volunteering their time to spay/ neuter, rehabilitate and adopt out homeless cats since 1994.
I am so grateful to them and so is my cat. He is still in a cast and we are appreciative for the fine skills of Dr. Sikes DVM. I have been volunteering for POUNCE and found this to be a truly remarkable organization.
They now need help. They are running low on funds and are looking to kind-hearted animal lovers for donations. All donations are tax-deductible (Tax ID #77-0398505). The address for POUNCE is P.O. Box 6075, Los Osos, CA, 93412-607 and their telephone is 528-2917.
