My heart grieves for our country. I read Michael Latner's latest column ("The struggle continues," June 15) while at a restaurant in Atascadero before using his opinion as a placemat. I was first able to vote in 1980. I knew nothing of politics, but knew it was my duty to educate myself on each candidate. A vote for Ronald Reagan was easy. Since then, I have never seen our country so divided. The "Euro-Com Party" that Michael and the Democratic Party have morphed into is fascist at best. He is a classic example of how this movement has confiscated the media, education system, and environmental movement. They no longer report or teach, but instead indoctrinate with their own agenda. From grammar school through college, brain washing is going full throttle. It's OK to have different opinions, unless it goes against Michael and his "Euro-Com" agenda. Michael and all other in this "Euro-Com" movement demand tolerance, acceptance, inclusiveness but are not willing to give it in return.
