SLO’s hot winery/outdoor music venue, Vina Robles Amphitheatre, has just given word of an upcoming show featuring Steely Dan this April 14 (vinarobles.com), so get your tickets now … Also in recent news, the Paso Robes Wine Country Alliance will tweak its normal Zinfandel Festival Weekend to include tons of educational wine seminars (Zinposium) taking place at the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom (March 20 to 21; pasowine.com) … Sinor-LaVallee Owner/Winemaker Mike Sinor recently purchased Bassi Vineyard in Avila Valley and is crafting incredible cool climate pinot noir and chardonnay that needs to be on your radar. His new, sunny tasting room has moved into the old Cuvee wine bar at 550 1st St. and is slated to open within the next few weeks (sinorlavallee.com) … Santa Margarita-based Dunbar Brewing Company has officially expanded and will be brewing in a newer, larger facility come May/June 2015.

A unique swath of 14 Paso Robles tasting rooms will feature a Wild About Wine Walk this Feb. 7. Purchase a single passport and enjoy two wines from each tasting room as well as wild encounters from fuzzy mammals and scaly reptiles alike, with all net proceeds benefitting Zoo to You (downtownpasowine.com) ... If you read last week’s Flavor section, you know that I am obsessed with Kreuzberg’s Ethiopia roast, which is a blueberry muffin explosion of caffeine love. But wait! The SLO coffee shop’s Brazil roast is just as good, only darker and toastier (kreuzbergcalifornia.com). Are you watching Mind of a Chef narrated by Anthony Bourdain yet?
