# Art, wine, and love--three of Earth's greatest inspirations--have recently come together in the village of Arroyo Grande.

Local award-winning husband and wife winemakers Craig and Sheri Wood have successfully combined all three creative media at their new Wood Winery tasting and art room located at 136 Bridge St. in Arroyo Grande.

"It's a perfect match," Craig said of combining art and wine. "Everyone has their own taste in art and their own taste in wine--and to each their own. So that's why we felt it was the perfect combination. It gives customers an amazing opportunity to experience both."

The move for the couple, both Cal Poly viticulture graduates, indicates just how well their San Luis Obispo County-based wine business has aged through the years.

It was May of 1999 when the Woods planted the first grape seeds on an 80-acre vineyard at the base of the Cuesta Grade. Their first harvest took place nearly three years later. Eight years into the new millennium, their wine business is booming. Now, the couple specializes in producing world-class wines from their local vineyards. Try some of their favorites, like the Tipsy Dog Pinot and Rose Palm and be on the lookout for their new upcoming wines, including a Sangiovese and a Vino Pastoso.

"Working as a family is great," Craig said. "We're a small, boutique winery, so our family does everything from growing the grapes to selling the wine. There's not that much of that anymore. We have the unique family story that customers love to hear."

Anyone who becomes a member of the Wild 4 Wine Club! will receive 20 percent off wines, free tastings, and savings on all logo merchandise.

Visitors to the South County shop will be able to taste quality wines and view paintings and sculptures.

Experience the Woods' labor of love Tuesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 489-WOOD or browse or purchase products online at www.wildwoodwine.com.
