Laetitia Brut Cuvée
- LAETITIA BRUT CUVÉE :
Got bubbly? It’s almost New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day and the best way to celebrate either of those days is to have plenty of sparkling wines on hand. We are quite fortunate to have an excellent local producer like Laetitia that produces a range of fine bubblies at prices that fit every budget. This is their value-priced sparkling wine that’s a blend of pinot noir, chardonnay, and pinot blanc. It’s an elegant wine with delicious notes of apple and citrus, a fine choice whether you choose to drink it on its own or enjoy it at the table. Sparkling wine is quite food friendly, and versatile enough to pair with shellfish, poultry, cheese, or brunch dishes. The nice thing about stopping in at the winery on Hwy. 101 in Arroyo Grande, open daily, is that you can taste several of their fine sparkling wines and pick the one that’s just right for your taste and your wallet. This is an excellent choice for ringing in the New Year, and a very good buy at only $25 retail.
Verdad 2012 Grenache Rosé Edna Valley
- VERDAD 2012 GRENACHE ROSÉ EDNA VALLEY :
Pretty in pink, this cranberry hued wine is a wonderful choice during the holiday season as an aperitif or paired with food. Refreshing and nicely balanced, it offers ripe notes of strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, and citrus, but it’s beautifully dry. While some people think rosé wines are strictly for summer, I stay stocked up on them year round. From what I’ve learned from the best producers this year, they’re boosting production yearly and still selling out fast. Get this excellent version while you still can, as it’s a very good buy, and available at Vintage 1255 in SLO at a price of $19.
