Dotty Hawthorne made a bold statement with her unique paintings of the Central Coast. After 10 years of contributing to the Gallery at the Network, as well as 25 years of painting the various landscapes of the Central Coast, Hawthorne is ready to move up to the different sights of Portland, Ore. Still, the artist reflects fondly on all the incredible sights of the California Coast.

“The Central Coast has been my inspiration and muse as an artist. I love this area: the golds of the summer grasses and the brilliant greens of the hills after winter rains; the fabulous oaks, sycamores, and eucalyptus contrasted with the grasses, the many moods of the sea, and the misty foggy mornings giving way to brilliant clear sunshine,” Hawthorne said in a press release.

Join Hawthorne in her final months showing at the beloved art space and enjoy her remaining collection of pastel and oil paintings. The collection will be shown at Gallery at the Network, located at 778 Higuera Street, suite B, through July 31. If you have any questions about the event, call 788-0886. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
