I find myself writing to you today in regards to our upcoming election. I believe it’s time for change, not just in this country but in the great county of San Luis Obispo. As a young voter and resident of San Luis Obispo County, I often find myself pondering, “Why do certain people get elected?” Is it the size of their pocket book? Is it who they know or who they’re endorsed by? Or, is it because of their opinions, values, and beliefs on issues facing the people they represent? I would hope it’s the later; however, as I become older and wiser, I find it’s not.
We have to start ignoring who others tell us to vote for and vote for the candidate with the best track record. We need to do our research and vote for the candidate who’ll get the job done with the community’s best interest in mind. I challenge everyone reading this to do your research prior to voting. Understand who the person is, what they stand for, and their position on issues facing our local area.
I’ve done my research and come to the conclusion that Ed Waage is the best candidate for 3rd District supervisor. Ed isn’t afraid to ask questions and challenge “special interest” or the “status quo.” Ed serves a purpose in running for supervisor. He has served on the Pismo Beach City Council and has made much-needed improvements.
Ed now sees a need to extend his reach of influence into the 3rd District of San Luis Obispo County. Decide who you believe is best for our county. I did, and it’s clear: Ed Waage is my choice for 3rd District supervisor.
