There are in excess of 400,000 laws that we can be prosecuted for; many of us have at some time been cited for a violation that, while valid, was completely irrational!
This typically happens when we are driving. Why is a red sports car pulled out of the center of a group of cars going 75? The cop says he “couldn’t stop everyone. Anyone ever been ticketed for not stopping at a sign on a deserted country road? I have!
Molski does have a point! In this country, we all are supposed to have reasonable, safe access to public places.
When I had a business I had to spend a large amount widening doorways, installing a wheelchair ramp, and even moving the john 2 inches further from the wall in case I ever hired a disabled employee. Such are the laws.
Until there is a workable mechanism to allow us to fix irrationally written ones, we’re stuck with them. Molski is doing just what county code-enforcement employees should be doing.
