Morro Bay should ban fireworks in the harbor

As a visitor to Morro Bay, I would have thought fireworks would be banned, period, in the harbor. The place is a sanctuary. WTF is wrong with people? Why not go further up the beach and set them off and folks could park at the rock and watch from there, or would that disturb the sanctuary of the people that live there? Linda Merrill (who wrote a letter to the editor about this issue in New Times’ Aug. 27 issue), if you really care, you and other supporters should get a petition going to try and stop it, not just hide your head in the sand and not attend the festival. I would sign that if I was a resident or tell me how else to help stop it.
