Today one can hardly find bread that doesn’t taste like cake. Even so-called diet bread is sweet.
Recently I bought pork links when I cooked them they were sweet. I discovered that Farmer John now has links with maple syrup in them. If I wanted maple syrup on my sausages, I would pour some over them. What next, saltines with sugar? Or hash browns?
No wonder people have a hard time controlling their weight. And please don’t tell me that stores that sell supposed organic foods don’t do the same: I bought a loaf of their sheepherders bread and it is sweet, too.
Don’t get me wrong, I eat cookies, cakes, and candies, and drink sweet drinks and chew gum. That is where sweetness belongs, but not in bread and sausages.
I’m bitter about sweetness in everything.
