Oh, the things we do for love. The San Luis Obispo Little Theatre is serving up a tale of trying to please the people who love us most: our parents.
In a staged reading of Beau Jest on April 28 and 29, meet Sarah, whose parents are delighted that she's found love. Sarah is finally engaged, and to a charming Jewish doctor. The only thing is, none of it's real. When her family arrives in town for a dinner party, she hires an actor to keep the fiction alive. Hilarity and romance ensue.
Beau Jest is put on by the kids of the Little Theatre's Academy of Creative Theatre program and shows Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and also on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12. Visit slolittletheatre.org for more information.
