Regardless of how you feel about the New Frontiers-to-Whole Foods switchover, there is one thing you should know: Now is the time to enjoy the freshly juiced concoctions you’ve come to know and love while shopping for bulk nuts and organic produce. Word on the street is that the Whole Foods sign will go up sometime this October/November, and with it, plenty of changes. By no means am I saying these changes will be bad (I am personally happy that beer and wine is already being stocked at the Froom Ranch Way location), but there will be changes, nonetheless. My favorite New Frontiers juice to sip while strolling the aisles is aptly called, “The Perfect Blend,” a mix of carrot, beet, apple, celery, and ginger. It’s not too sweet and the ginger bestows a powerful, spicy kick that keeps me slurping for more. I suggest you try it, as well as the other seven juice blends on the grocery store’s menu, while you still can!
About $4 for a 12 ounce juice at New Frontiers/Whole Foods, located at 1531 Froom Ranch Way, San Luis Obispo.
