This tasty blend always has different amounts of each variety every year, but it’s consistent, nonetheless. And it’s one of those wines that usually isn’t marked up so much on a restaurant wine list. This blend has 47 percent Syrah, 29 percent Mourvedre, and 24 percent Grenache, which created a rustic style with brambly notes of blackberries, leather, and spice. But the ripe black cherry and plum flavors with notes of black pepper and smoke make it easy drinking and food friendly. I prefer it with a steak, lamb chops, sausages, or a meaty pizza. It’s only $25 at the Los Olivos tasting room.
