"Guitarist from punk feminist band found dead" could very well be a headline in today's news as political divisions widen. Instead it's the center of the plot from an original play with all too real themes debuting at Cuesta College this month.
The Emma Peel Game, a product of a creative husband-wife team, written by Philip Valle and directed by bree valle. The play is based on a true story and centers on The Lucy Cannons, an all-female punk band from California finishing their European tour. A mere 24 hours later, the body of the Cannons' guitarist is found in a warehouse with an ominous stainless-steel guitar pick placed in her mouth.
The Emma Peel Game is showing at Cuesta's Cultural and Performing Arts Center Dec. 2 through 11. Tickets are $15. Visit cuesta.edu for more information.
