There is a very informative article in New Times regarding the state of finances for the city of SLO (“Heading for the cliff,” Sept. 30). This article highlights topics that are predictive of the financial future of this great city. It is not a doom-and-gloom article, but a documented, informative, current, and future analysis of our financials. This article highlights taxes, fees, pensions, salaries, measure Y, binding arbitration, surplus funds, unions, services and more.

I recommend this article as a must-read before and after the election. Please remember that the continuing success of this city is the responsibility of every one of the citizens and students; therefore, vote this November and continue to be active in the political process.
