I was dismayed, to say the least, to learn that Rep. Capps feels it is not the right time for single-payer health care. I believe she was elected to Congress to express the desires of her constituents regardless of whether she thinks it would pass. How is it when many of her constituents are losing their jobs and health care she feels it was necessary to support the Federal Employee Family Leave Act? These employees are some of the highest paid in the country with virtually endless job security: They are the last people who need extra benefits of four to eight weeks paid leave for newly born, adopted, or fostered children.
Let’s get our priorities straight. If such people are not bright enough to set aside funds in the time frame it takes to have or obtain a new child, I don’t want them working for me.
I want Rep. Capps to co-sponsor HR676 for single-payer health insurance!
