  • RUSACK 2009 CHARDONNAY SANTA BARBARA COUNTY:

This graceful Chardonnay from a consistently good producer is well worth seeking out. You’ll find it layered in delicious flavors and hard to stay away from the glass when you’re drinking this fine white wine. The grapes for this vintage came from three cool climate vineyards in Santa Maria Valley: Bien Nacido, Sierra Madre, and Goodchild. This crisp Chardonnay tastes of zingy green apple, sweet pear, melon, and citrus flavors, which weave harmoniously with subtle oak notes of vanilla and spice. It was aged in French oak, 40 percent of it new barrels. It’s impressive on its own, and a great choice for crab, lobster, prawns, or roasted poultry. Available at the tasting room for $23, it’s also on sale at BevMo! for $20.99.
