Well, I know, you know, we all know you’re going to get hammered on this subject, so here’s my 2 cents. Dan Johnson is right about one thing and one thing only: “There's confusion about separation of church and state” (“Religious pamphlet causes stir at public school,” Feb. 3). And that confusion comes from Mr. Johnson.
“Separation of church and state” means what it says. Period. Please don’t put a spin on it just because some right-wing judge ruled differently from every other judge. Please don’t put your church or anybody else’s church in my schools or in my politics. Keep out. Why? Because our forefathers were bright enough to know that if you do this, you will eventually have religious riots, conflicts, and—oh my god—even a civil war! How could that be?
