Sinor LaVallee 2010 Pinot Noir Aubaine Vineyard

comment

Grown in a unique, special little vineyard in south SLO County, it’s not far from Laetitia. This wine continues to develop and tastes better each time I’ve tried it over several occasions. A complex wine with definite ripe notes of blackberries, black cherries, and plums, it’s nicely nuanced with notes of spice and earth. A lovely wine that tastes great alone, and it’s perfect for a special dinner party paired with filet mignon, pepper crusted ahi, or grilled quail. Clearly this outstanding Pinot will improve over the next 5 to 10 years. Winemaker Mike Sinor told me why it’s so good: “I only work with great vineyards; that’s my secret.” Available at Tastes of the Valleys Pismo and 15 Degrees C in Templeton for $40 retail, once tasted you’ll want to invest in several bottles.
