I’m a longtime fan of winemaker Mike Sinor, who also makes Ancient Peaks wines, this is his value-priced Pinot. One taste and I thought what a deal for this impressively, rich red. A blend of Pinot Noirs grown in four vineyards, it’s all hand harvested and sorted in the vineyard and winery. Sinor doesn’t skip any detail in the making of any of his fine wines. I loved the opulent, layered flavors in this irresistible Pinot, with ripe, bright flavors of red cherries, strawberries, and plums, the sweet fruit is nicely offset by juicy acidity. It will improve a great deal if cellared, but I doubt you’ll be able to keep your hands off this. Available Tastes of the Valleys Pismo Beach where it’s only $25 retail.
